The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) and Forcura, the leader in document workflow and mobile care coordination for post-acute healthcare, release an inaugural research report: The 2018 State of Connectivity – How Home Health and Hospice Organizations are Sharing Health Information.
Commissioned by the National Association for Home Care & Hospice and sponsored by Forcura, the research highlights the current level of interoperability in the post-acute segment of healthcare and explores the methods and frequency of information exchange, barriers and standards to watch.
The study included a survey of more than 200 home health and hospice leaders and technologists, of which 32% were Presidents and CEOs. Corresponding interviews were conducted to gain further insight which is shared in this comprehensive educational report.
According to the report, the ability to effectively manage a patient starts at the point of referral and while the technology exists, today the majority of data across the industry is still transmitted via manual methods. This drastically impacts team productivity and efficiency and the ability to provide timely patient care.
This report is one component of many efforts underway by NAHC to help the industry understand current challenges and work towards common solutions with the goal of driving efficiency and improved patient care throughout the care continuum.
